Un homme cadre dans une grosse entreprise et menant une vie de riche apprend qu'il est viré suite au début de la crise financière de 2008. Avec plusieurs de ses collègues, commence un long chemin de remise en question et pour trouver un emploi.
Premier long métrage cinéma de John Wells co producteur de séries comme Urgences où A la Maison Blanche, Wells livre ici un sujet apparemment peu intéressant cinématographiquement parlant mais réussit son coup.
Le réalisateur nous donne ici un film sobre sur le parcours d'un homme qui va remette son mode de vie en question et aussi ses collègues qui sont dans la même situation tandis que son parton continue à s'en mettre plein les poches faisant construire même des nouveaux bureaux. On en apprend plus sur le fonctionnement du système américain dans ce cas précis qui est très différent d'en France.
Le gros intérêt du film c'est le casting, Wells a su s'entourer de grosses stars pour son premier long, des émouvants Chris Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones et Kevin Costner, mais c'est Ben Affleck qui rafle tout et qui donne une de ses meilleurs compositions récentes.
On pourra peut être regretter un happy end qui fait quand même plaisir pour les personnages, mais The Company Men est une vraie bonne surprise porté par donc un Ben Affleck en très grande forme, à voir.
