La sortie de Super Mario Galaxy : le Film était attendue après l'énorme succès du premier volet, il ne déçoit pas. En salles US depuis Mercredi, il rapporte en trois jours 190 M$ sur le territoire national mais plus de 372 M en tout pulvérisant de nouveaux records, malgré un lynchage critique en masse (y compris en France chez les Youtubeurs). Une fois de plus, un fossé se creuse entre les critiques et le public, même si on est pas forcé d'être le public cible ici. Nul doute qu'on échappera pas à un troisième opus.
Du reste, Projet Dernière Chance se maintient très bien de 217 M$ US, mais 420 M en tout, idem pour Jumpers, 149 M US et 514 Mondiaux dans des fréquentations en hausse aux US.
A côté, The Drama avec le nouveau duo d'Hollywood Zendaya, Robert Pattinson s'en sort très honnêtement de 14 M$, Pattinson se remet de l'échec de Mickey 17 en attendant le prochain Batman.
Echec cependant de The Great Awakening (centré sur Benjamin Franklin mais qui n'a aucune chance de sortir en France) pour 2 M$ et même Reminders of Him se rattrape avec 79 M$ (45 US) faisant un bon créneau pour Universal en attendant Spielberg et Nolan.
Le week-end prochain, pas de grosses sorties à l'horizon tout Hollywood attend désormais le biopic sur Michael Jackson dont la promo vient de commencer.
