Très attendu avec son gros budget, le nouveau Cédric Jimenez Chien 51 arrive en tête mais pour 421 000 E devient la plus faible ouverture du réalisateur, ce qui n'est guère encourageant pour la suite, dans une fréquentation habituellement en hausse pour les vacances, mais qui là ne l'est pas trop.
Les autres nouveautés font encore moins bien, l'animé Hopper et le secret de la marmotte démarre à 182 000 spectateurs et le dernier Arnaud Desplechin, Deux pianos fait pire pour 91 000 curieux seulement, malgré François Civil et Charlotte Rampling. Enfin, carton aux US, Black Phone 2 n'ouvre qu'à 93 000 courageux, les cinémas (hormis les gros films du genre), mettant peu en avant les films d'horreur surtout pendant les vacances en raison des débordements des débiles habituels.
Enfin, Une bataille après l'autre reste second pour 1 169 000 fans, suivi de C'était mieux demain (419 000 E) et Tron : Ares cumule à peine 339 000 E.
Mercredi prochain, c'est le nouveau Ozon qui adapte Albert Camus pour L'Etranger avec Benjamin Bonvoisin et Rebecca Marder et on pourra voir enfin Dwayne Johnson en mode Oscars pour le fameux Smashing Machine.
