Meurs un autre jour
James Bond de Lee Tamahori avec Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Toby Stephens, Rosamund Pike, Judi Dench, Samantha Bond, John Cleese et Michael Madsen

Capturé lors d'une mission et torturé pendant plus d'un an dans des geôles coréennes, James Bond est finalement échangé et mis au placard, il décide de se rattraper.
Dernier Bond avec Pierce Brosnan et certainement celui à plus gros budget, mis en scène par Lee Tamahori découvert avec L'âme des guerriers et qui a connu une honnête carrière américaine par la suite.
Cet épisode voit notre agent secret mis à mal capturé et torturé dans les prisons coréennes, une première, idée suggérée par Brosnan en personne. A partir de là mis au rencart, il va retourner sur le terrain pour se rattraper. Au menu de ce nouvel épisode, un spectaculaire passage en Islande dans un impressionnant hôtel de glace réellement construit (et détruit) pour l'occasion et beaucoup, beaucoup d'action parfois un brin invraisemblable ce qui lui a été, et est beaucoup reproché.
Pierce Brosnan a moins d'humour que d'habitude et pour cause, secondé par la superbe Halle Berry (qui n'avait pas encore tourné X-Men) et dont sa première apparition est un hommage à celle d'Ursula Andress et par une Rosamund Pike débutante. On retrouve ici Judi Dench et la surprise de voir Michael Madsen par amitié pour Tamahori pour qui il avait tourné Les hommes de l'ombre.
Bref, malgré son gros succès à sa sortie, ce James Bond est descendu depuis dans l'estime de pas mal, mais mérite d'être réevalué, John Cleese personnifiant Q pour la deuxième et dernière fois.
