Alors que les passions se déchaînent un peu trop autour du choix de Ben Affleck pour Batman, c'est l'acteur Bryan Cranston qui aurait été choisi pour le rôle de Lex Luthor. Le comédien est surtout connu pour la série Breaking Bad (en France sur Arte), Warner attendrait le tournage de la fin de la série pour officialisé la nouvelle.
