C'était relativement prévisible, malgré le bazar au niveau de la production et les appels au boycott, Scream 7 ouvre à 64 M$ US et 97 Mondiaux, ce qui fait le meilleur départ de la série et d'un film d'horreur en cette période. Paramount, Ellison en pleine affaire Warner Bros peut souffler et le 8ème opus annoncé est évidemment confirmé. Reste qu'avec Scary Movie, les futures prod Paramount risquent de ne plus être de prestige, dommage pour ce studio légendaire qui méritait mieux. A noter que sa deuxième semaine sera à surveiller au vu des critiques désastreuses (divisées en France).
Autrement, pas de grosses concurrences. Goat (73 M$ US, 130 en tout) continue son ascension devenant un vrai succès pour Sony Animation, Hurlevent tient bon avec 72 M$ US, mais 192 en Mondial.
Seule nouveauté, Twenty One Pilots, un énième concert filmé rivalise avec celui d'Elvis de 4 et 7 M$.
Enfin, Crime 101 poursuit son honnête parcours de 30 et 57 M$ et Send Help s'approche petit à petit des 90.
Le week-end prochain, c'est aussi The Bride! et Jumpers (paris risqués pour Warner et Pixar).
