Restée silencieuse après plusieurs reports, la suite de l'excellent Dead Reckoning mais qui n'avait pas eu tout à fait le succès escompté, fait parler.
Le premier trailer devrait être dévoilé à la sortie de Gladiator II le week-end prochain, mais le budget serait de 400 M$, soit le plus gros de la franchise et du cinéma actuel. Paramount voudrait que ce soit le dernier film, mais Tom Cruise s'y opposerait, on murmure une ouverture du prochain festival de Cannes.
Pendant ce temps, Cruise serait en négociations pour une suite de Jours de Tonnerre de Tony Scott (1990), le film où il a rencontré Nicole Kidman mais qui avait été un gros bide à sa sortie.. La sortie salles de Mission est toujours datée au 21 Mai 2025.
