Sept ans environ après la fin de la franchise avec Jennifer Lawrence, Lionsgate essayait de ressusciter l'univers pour Hunger Games : La Ballade du Serpent et de l'Oiseau chanteur sur la jeunesse de Cronelius Snow ici incarné par Tom Blyth.
Se passant donc 60 ans avant la série, le film met aussi en scène la controversée Rachel Zegler, avec 44 M$, le film réussit son entrée, mais est aussi le plus faible départ de la série, malgré un budget moindre semble-t-il.
DreamWorks Animation reprend un peu les couleurs après le flop de Ruby, l'ado Kraken, Les Trolls 3 ouvre à 31 M$, on se souvient que le deuxième opus avait été le premier succès streaming sur l'ère Covid.
Thanksgiving le nouveau carnage d'Eli Roth ouvre à 10 M$, enfin, Une équipe de rêve, le dernier Taika Waititi afiche 2 500 000 $, est un nouvel échec pour Century Studios.
Par la suite, The Marvels confirme son flop avec une chute historique en seconde semaine et que 10 M$ de plus ce qui cumule 65 M US et 161 Mondial, ce qui prouve le déclin du genre.
Five Nights At Freddy's se porte bien pour 132 M$ US et 271 au compteur, enfin bon maintient aussi de Winter Break pour 8 M.
Le week-end prochain, c'est Napoléon qui semble mieux accueilli qu'en France.
