Cinquième volet de la franchise (vu que le premier qui était très bien), Insidious : The Red Door fait une des meilleures ouvertures avec 32 M$ et déjà 64 M dans le Monde, le film marque les débuts à la réalisation de Patrick Wilson et un nouveau carton pour Sony après Spider-Man.
Mais le gros succès surprise, c'est le dernier Mel Gibson Sound of Freedom ouvrant à 40 M$ en étant troisième, Gibson n'a jamais été autant à la fête pour un sujet pourtant difficile, (le trafic d'enfant) qui fait bien entendu polémique. Gibson retrouve pour l'occasion Jim Caviezel (La Passion du Christ). Autrement, pas encore de sortie française, tourné sous la bannière Fox et racheté par un studio indépendant, on attend qu'un distributeur ose.
Indiana Jones et le Cadran de la Destinée chute moins que prévu et cumule 121 M$ et 247 M en Mondial, preuve que le bouche à oreille est plutôt bon et pourrait devenir un succès sur la durée, malgré les gros films qui arrivent derrière.
Idem pour Elémentaire qui crée la surprise de semaine en semaine (109 M$ US et 251 Mondial) qui doit donner du sourire à Disney, mais reste insuffisant vu son démarrage.
Enfin, échec de Joy Ride avec l'actrice de Emily in Paris Ashley Park, qui n'ouvre qu'à 5 M$.
Le week-end prochain, grosse arrivée de Mission : Impossible - Dead Reckoning : Partie 1.
