La sortie d'Avatar : La voie de l'eau était largement attendue et ne déçoit pas avec 134 M$ US et déjà près de 485 M dans le monde, c'est largement mieux que le premier mais sorti il y'a treize ans.
On s'étonne que le film ne démarre pas dans les eaux des derniers Marvel, mais ce n'est pas la même catégorie. De plus, vu la durée et le contexte Noël, Covid et foot à l'international, il s'en sort vraiment bien et a les fêtes pour se faire sans grande concurrence. A rappeler que le démarrage du précédent n'était pas fou non plus, ne faisons pas la fine bouche. Et c'est une aubaine pour Century Studios après une flopée d'échec.
Par la suite, Violent Night se maintient très bien pour 34 M$ malgré son flop un peu partout notamment en France, une bonne aubaine pour Universal, Wakanda Forever cumule 418 M$ US et 786 M tout en maintenant à peu près à flot, même Avalonia reste assez stable mais 33 M$, c'est trop peu pour le Disney de Noël.
Enfin, The Fabelmans dans moins de 1000 salles cumule 8 M $ tout en se maintenant très correctement, il faudrait faire la moyenne de copies avant de parler d'échec.
Le week-end prochain, c'est Le Chat Potté 2 et le fameux Babylon de Chazelle avec une durée égale à Avatar qui seront de sortie.
