Quatre adolescents punis dans leur lycée doivent nettoyer une vieille pièce, ils découvrent un jeu vidéo baptisé Jumanji et son aspirés dedans. Ils comprennent qu'ils doivent finir le jeu pour retourner au monde réel.
Depuis quelques années faire un remake d'un film relativement culte est devenu un exercice compliqué qui se termine rarement par un accueil chaleureux de la part du public et d'un succès au box office, ce nouveau Jumanji pourrait bien changer la donne.
Car il s'agit ici d'une suite directe au premier opus qui commence à son époque pour nous transporter à la nôtre. Le début fait penser aux prod Spielberg des années 90 pour ensuite arriver dans le jeu.
Car contrairement au premier film toute l'action se passe à l'intérieur du média dans une aventure frénétique et qui va à cent à l'heure vaguement teinté de fantastique avec le méchant qui contrôle les animaux.
L'un des bons points du film, c'est l'alchimie entre les acteurs, Dwayne Johnson en ado timide et complexé, Jack Black qui découvre ses "atouts" masculins la très belle Karen Gillan qui exploite son physique à fond pour se moquer d'elle même sans oublier Kevin Hart dans le rôle du type qui fait des vannes.
Le tout nous plonge donc dans une aventure très rythmée avec la musique d'Henry Jackman, visuellement qui se tient (on est pas dans un gros budget), il y a même un petit clin d'oeil à Robin Williams et qui finit vraiment pas divertir sans problème.
Assez mal vendu par Sony/Columbia, ce Jumanji nouvelle formule s'avère être une plutôt bonne surprise que l'on attendait pas vraiment, de quoi s'offrir un sympathique divertissement pour terminer l'année en beauté.
