En 1927, un jeune orphelin est recueilli par une femme qui vit dans un petit village campagnard, il se lie d'amitié avec le braconnier local qui va lui faire découvrir la nature.
Nouvelle réalisation de Nicolas Vanier (qui adapte ici son propre roman) après Loup où le premier volet de Belle et Sébastien, L'école buissonnière est une véritable ode à la nature ce qui nous donne de superbes paysages de la campagne et des forêts de Sologne.
L'histoire n'est pas inédite et un peu prévisible, mais reste touchante et émouvante portée par d'excellents acteurs François Cluzet et le jeune Jean Scandel qui s'en sort bien sans en faire trop.
Le duel du braconnier et du garde champêtre n'est pas sans rappeler d'ailleurs certaines scènes de Ni vu, ni connu film d'Yves Robert avec De Funès sorti à la fin des années 50.
Dans la deuxième partie, un cerf légendaire entre en scène qui vole la vedette et est filmé comme rarement au cinéma, il faut saluer la composition de François Berléand loin de ses rôles de comique.
L'Ecole Buissonnière est un joli petit film avec de très belles images et une histoire touchante, par les temps qui courent, ça ne fait vraiment pas de mal.
